ABOUT

Lauren is a Sydney born creative with a B/Business and career in Digital Marketing with a passion for and evolving artistic practice in ceramics.

While living in NYC 2012-14, Lauren was a studio member at Choplet Ceramics Arts Centre in Williamsburg, where she took a short courses in wheel throwing and sculpture. In 2014, Lauren moved to live and work remotely in Bali where she was an active studio member and intern at Gaya Ceramic Art Centre (GCAC) in Ubud. While at GCAC Lauren attended a number of intensive workshops lead by leading international ceramic artists and taught weekly throwing classes to students.

In 2019, Lauren traveled to Japan to part take in her first artist residency at Shiro Oni in Onishi. At the end of the six week residency Lauren participated in a group exhibition where she showcased her Anagama wood fired ceramic art titled ‘The Harvest’.

Upon returning to Sydney, at the beginning of 2020, Lauren began assisting acclaimed contemporary Australian artist Juz Kitson with the creations of Juz’s intricate hand-built masterpieces. From mid 2020 to mid 2021 (in between lock downs) Lauren also co-producing and assisted Juz and multiple Archibald Prize finalist Mirra Whale with several two-day intensive creative workshops at The Art House Milton. Lauren continues to work alongside Juz from time to time assisting Juz with on-going workshops.

Lauren is also a 200HR certified yoga teacher, level 3 Reiki practitioner, avid scuba diver, surfer and curious world traveler.
